Our spring nucs are 100% Flow Hive compatible, supplied with five Langstroth frames of naturally drawn foundationless comb and a 2024 queen.
 
Raised from healthy colonies that we know and love, our spring nucleus colonies are the perfect way to kick-start your Flow Hive or Langstroth beekeeping setup. We raise our bees in family gardens along the Surrey and Sussex border, and are excited to be nurturing a genetic line that is locally adapted and well suited to southern areas of the UK.
 
We believe passionately that our bees know best, and following their lead is our primary call as beekeepers. As such, we're proud to do things a little differently. Unlike those produced by commercial bee farms, every one of our nucs is supplied with a queen naturally and carefully reared by their own bees, and with minimal disturbance from us. Our 2024 queens are supplied marked (green) and unclipped.
 
Ensuring the continued good health of our bees is paramount and all our colonies are treated for Varroa mites in the autumn and winter. Our spring nucs are then treated again whilst broodless and are regularly inspected for health and vitality prior to collection.
 
Our nucleus colonies are supplied in a travel box, ready for transfer into a permanent hive upon collection. Please don’t throw your travel box away – you’ll find many opportunities to reuse it in the future!
 
Shortly after receiving your order we will be in touch to arrange collection from Cranleigh, Surrey, GU6. Balance due in full prior to collection.
